Crisis in Australia’s healthcare and disability support

Saturday 10:00 AM

Australia’s healthcare and disability system is in shambles. Decades of funding cuts and neoliberal market reforms have privatised the system and compromised the quality of patient care. The result is that masses of people have to rely on a shonky healthcare system that is increasingly unable to meet their basic needs. This is especially the case for lower-income and working class people. In this session, we will hear from socialists working frontline jobs in the healthcare sector to explore the state of healthcare and disability services in Australia, recent changes, and how this abysmal point was reached.
