Trump is a far-right authoritarian. Under his second administration, Trump has unleashed barbaric wars abroad and brutal attacks on the working class at home. ICE is now the biggest US law enforcement agency and the cost of surviving in the US has soared, while Trump’s administration pours billions into the war machine, AI and tax write-offs for the rich. All while brazenly testing (and pushing) the limits on how far he can go into making the United States authoritarian. This session will explore Trump’s second administration, how socialists should understand it, and what it means for the future of US capitalism and imperialism.
